In His Service, Rod Farthing, National Development Director Here is Dear Sourms' latest report: Nine Americans -- short term missionaries -- came
to visit us on 12th February 2008. All were very much
impressed with the work being done for the needy girls at the
center and Reintegration (Halfway House). During their visit they
saw the vocational training, education, and agricultural mushroom project.
The team also participated in the activities for staff and for girls
such leading devotions at Rapha House in both the morning and the
evening.
The girls are so happy with the new bikes! (See picture
at top.)
There are now 67 girls being cared for at the Rapha
House -- 48 at the main center and 19 at the Reintegration (Halfway
House).
Editor's note: Any support for the new vehicle,
the furnishing of the new building, or increase in operational
support is greatly appreciated!

Note
from Rod: We now have over 20 girls in our crowded rented
facility. We have 27 on our waiting list! We are looking
for 135 churches or individuals who could give $1,000 so we can build our
50-bed dorm for the Daughters of Ruth.
If you want a 3-minute DVD
or CD-Windows Media presentation to document this need of the DOR, please
reply by email to rodfar@arm.org or
call 573-729-6355. If possible, Joe or I would come to your
church. But we can mail these to you within days. So please
let us know if you are interested in helping! Thanks so
much!
Here is a bit more from Bro. Joe Garman:
Thank you for partnering with me in the gospel …
especially in regard to the Daughters of Ruth. James 1:17 says, "Every
good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father." So,
when you gave, you were acting and thinking like God and allowing Him to
work through you. You responded in a godly fashion. Jesus said in Matthew
6:19-20, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth … but store up
for yourselves treasures in heaven." You have just stored up more
treasures in heaven … where God dwells.
By reaching out to these girls at the Daughters
of Ruth in faith and love you are making a sound investment
for eternity. We like investments that are sure. I can guarantee you great
dividend on this investment. Listen: "Give happily to those in need, and
always be ready to share whatever God has given you. By doing this, you
will be storing up real treasure for yourselves in heaven – it is the only
safe investment for eternity" (I Timothy 6:18-19). The only thing that
will last forever is a human soul. You are helping pave the way for
many to be saved through your faithful prayers and generous
donations.
Serving together, Joe R. Garman, Evangelist

Back to top Glory to Christ, my beloved brother! This is my brief report for January 2008. 1. IMMERSIONS. On 24.01.2008 we immersed the 74-years
old woman, named Emilia, - the mother of a run-away convict.
2. PRISONS. On 10.01.2008 brother Cherevatov from the
Abinsk district of the Krasnodar Territory came to me, saying he had
published the materials, showing the contacts of the district judge and
the criminals. Cherevatov in 2007 was thricely administratively arrested
and the police tried to put him into the psychiatric hospital. He was not
taken there without the special court decision. In January the criminal
judge decided to issue the order to put Cherevatov to the madhouse. Thus,
Cherevatov ran away. I organized his contact with bro Novozhilov, who
helped Cherevatov to emigrate to Ukraine to ask the political asylum
through UN High Commissioner for Refugees Office.
3. MOSLEMS. On 21.01.2008 the "New newspaper of Kuban"
(the local issue of the Moscow "New newspaper", where Anna Politkovskaya
worked) published the article ( 4/1322, p.13), written by bro I.
Yassinskiy, about the meeting to commemorate the 800-th birthday of
Jelaladdin Rumi, which we had organized in Krasnodar.
In Jesus our hope!
Sincerely, DOM ARM chaplain Nicholas E. Alyoshin
(www.ARM.org), prof., etc.
Dear brethren in Jesus Christ, I had wanted to write you since a long time ago, but I did not find the time until now. Let me share with you a summary of the 2007 results and the activities done so far in 2008. There is a lot to do in the ministry! Many of the churches founded by our ministry wish to
get my visits, and so I plan to visit them on Wednesdays. They all need
lots of help. I have three dear brothers in the Lord go with me to these
visits. Their names are Vicente Tellez, José Luis Pérez and Fernando
Jiménez. But, my car is having many mechanical problems due to much work.
Now, I have to buy new tires, work on its suspension, work on its breaks,
and it needs some body work due to the bad roads and streets in Mexico.
However, this takes money, which I do not have right now.
God has been so great, and has used the ministry in
marvelous ways. During 2007, we had: 485 baptisms 1082 people graduate
from our first series of lessons (ten lessons all together) 381 people
graduated from all of our courses 64 jails were reached and are being
attended with Bible studies and Bibles 7180 inmates are now studying God's
wonderful Word 213 inmates were put free thanks to our help and Bible
courses 9 churches were planted 28,041 people registered to study our
Bible Correspondence Courses 12 universities are studying our lessons
80,350 Bible tracts were handed out 156 radio broadcast hours were paid to
let people know God's Word 2,872 Bibles were sent via snail mail 916
people had direct access to spiritual and psychological counseling.
Besides, I spent lots of counseling hours on the phone, electronic email,
and letters. Of course, there was a lot that was done, but these are some
of the most outstanding things. This ministry is really working and
reaching out to people in great need of the Word of God. I praise the Lord
since all this is only possible thanks to your help and contribution. You
are part of this great task to reach others for the Lord! Without you,
this could not be possible! Next time I write, I will share with you about
the first Christian camp held in Cuba. For now, let me just share with you
that anyone who goes to Cuba falls in love with the Christian faith shown
there. No matter the many shortages, people have a passion for God in
Cuba. They are faithful and committed Christians. Due to the Christian
Camp, which was more of a gathering of Christian Churches (Convention), a
new church was founded, and a person donated a property (2,152.78 sq.
feet) where to build this church. Now, there is a great need for
construction purposes. They need around $4,200.00. We are all praying for
this need to be met. God will provide! I still have a lot to share with
you, but this will give you a good picture of what is going on in the
ministry. God is doing great things! I am so grateful to God and to you
for your efforts to help, and love for God's Work! God bless you
abundantly!
With a thankful heart, Alfredo José Aparicio
HALLELUJAH! Greetings with Jesus Christ! I am able to do
my mission successfully because of your loving support and prayer during
the past year. As a result, I received an honorable award from the
Attorney General as the most impassioned prison mission.
We proclaimed the Gospel to 2000 people and baptized
approximately 650 people during the past 10 years at the Daejeon Juvenile
Protected Prison. We offered weekly worship service and Bible Study to the
prisoners aided by 100 volunteers and helpers. We also sponsor a spiritual
retreat twice a year conducted in groups of one teacher with five
students. We also conduct counseling for inmates who are released from
prison each month and guide them to family members and local church
services when they are reunited with society. Since the crime rate has
been declining, there is only one prison left because three prisons were
combined together.
Now, we start our mission in this combined Daeduck
Juvenile Prison in 2008. What a wonderful victory! In one other adult
prison, Daejeon Prison, where we are working now, we have 3000 prisoners.
We are taking care of each incoming and outgoing prisoner and his family.
I am the frontier person as the Chairman of Daejeon Christian Committee
for the Gospel Mission. We had baptized 26 prisoners and proclaimed the
Gospel to 470 prisoners with a special service last December.
We took care of Young-woo Kim who had stomach cancer in
the final period and guided him to heaven. That was such precious work for
us. Especially, we trained 35 long term prisoners in Daejeon Prison and
Kongjoo Prison in a discipleship with Jesus Christ. As a result, we formed
35 church communities without buildings, just like the early church. Each
of these groups were comprised of 10 to 40 prisoners. They are getting
larger and larger with over 900 prisoners altogether.
Furthermore, we trained 160 leaders from 5 different
prisons with D3 Discipleship Training Course. One of our missions is to
take care of the children of prisoners. We had 5 different Dream Tree
Camps with 62 children of prisoners last summer. This program consists of
Bible classes and family counseling sessions during the 4 day period. This
is an extremely important part of our mission since these children are in
danger and living in constant fear. They need our care and we do take care
of them continuously.
Daehyun Kang is one of the these children, who is a
freshmen in junior high school and living with his grandmother. His father
is a death penalty prisoner and his mother left his family. We guided
Daehyun's father to Jesus Christ and he became a Christian. We heard Mr.
Kang's concern about his son and his mother. We supported them with some
clothing, shoes and foods and even a scholarship. Daehyun and his
grandmother are now living a better life and are attending a local church
with the grace of God.
One other case is Younghee Moon who is a long term
prisoner in Chungjoo Prison. She has a 8 year old daughter living in an
orphanage and her mother misses her very much. We arranged for a special
visitation between her and her daughter. She wants to take care of her
daughter with our help. We wish to make a "Love House" for these kinds of
children. I am so exhausted because of the endless work, but I strive even
more to continue our mission.
Our ministry has gotten enlarged over the last 15 years.
However, volunteers and contributions are not sufficient. Your prayers and
support are necessary to save this dying spirit. Society does not pay much
attention to this kind of mission because of the bad economic situation of
our times. I could not have accomplished all of this without your help
until now and I will continue to do my best for God's Mission with your
continued support. May the good Lord help you and guide you always as you
continue serving Him!
Sincerely, Sang Ho Kim
