Bible Order Form

The Lord sees your ministry to inmates as priceless and so does the American Bible Society. In an effort to further support your work, the ABS Correctional Program has been restructured. A 15% fee to cover packing and shipping costs is all that you will be required to pay. You will no longer be required to purchase Bibles and New Testaments to be used in correctional facilities. The ABS Correctional Program understands that a substantial portion of your time is dedicated to fundraising. We rejoice with you that now this valuable time can be used to increase ministry to those under your care.

PAPERBACK BIBLES & NEW TESTAMENTS are available at no charge. You are limited to ordering no more than 15% of your Institution.s current inmate population. Be careful to enter quantities on the appropriate lines. ABS reserves the right to adjust quantities based on programmatic and budgetary considerations. Please note that this list contains Correctional Program prices and they are subject to change without notice.

Note, the CEV Bibles and New Testaments are written on approximately a 5th grade reading level. This makes the text easier to read than the other translations on this list. The Welcome Page of the CEV Bible offers this description, .The Contemporary English Version has been described as a .user-friendly. and a .mission-driven. translation that can be read aloud without stumbling, heard without misunderstanding, and listened to with enjoyment and appreciation, because the language is contemporary and the style is lucid and lyrical..

ORDERING GUIDELINES:

1. As the chaplain of this facility, I will fill out a Chaplain Response Sheet commenting on how I observe God's Word is impacting the lives of the recipients of Scripture. This is required to be returned prior to or when reordering.

2. I agree to make copies of the Inmate Response Sheets and distribute them to the inmates receiving Scripture products from this order. I agree to collect and mail these response sheets to ARM. The number of Inmate Response Sheets should be relative to the type of facility and quantity of Scriptures ordered.

PRISONS: An amount equaling at least 20% of Scriptures ordered will be required prior to reordering.
JAILS: An amount equaling at least 10% of Scriptures ordered will be required prior to reordering.

3. There must be at least 3 months between orders, so please order a supply that will last at least three to six months.

4. Since our funds are limited, you may only order a number of Bibles that is no more than 15% of the current inmate population (not annual or turnover rate).  Example: if your population is 1000, you may order up to 150 Bibles.  If you order Bibles with 20 per case, you may order no more than 8 cases.

• If need is proven, short-term facilities like jails and reception centers may be allowed to order beyond the 15% limit to meet needs, but the amount in excess of 15% must be New Testaments only.

To verify authorization we must have all forms filled out completely. Allow up to 4-6 weeks for delivery. Donated Bibles are not to be sold within the institution or supplied to outside volunteers.
